Proudest achievements

  • Over the years, I have taught more than 2000 students in Australia, including local and international students from China, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Colombia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mongolia, Ghana, South Africa, Chile, and many other countries. Teaching a diverse student community has been one of the rewarding parts of my career. It has allowed me to learn from many cultures while helping students feel welcome and included. One of my proudest achievements has been receiving positive student feedback recognising my fairness, equality, and inclusive teaching approach. Students provided feedback about me that they appreciate being treated equally, feeling respected, and having their voices heard, regardless of their nationality or language, religion, and background. Dr Praveena has received many prestigious awards, including the Best Overall Performance Excellence Academic Award for a Bachelor´s Degree, the University of Newcastle Full PhD Scholarship, and the faculty winner of the Three Minute Thesis Competition. In addition, she has served as a reviewer for top-tier academic journals (ABDC, A and C) and for reputable international conferences (AIB and AOM). She is also a finalist for the 2026 She Inspires Awards- UK 2026
